The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) has implemented new vaccination requirements for the 2014-2015 school year. Beginning Monday, September 8, 2014, students in Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) who have not submitted documentation of meeting the new requirements will be excluded from school until the required records are provided. Currently, 279 students do not have documentation of the necessary vaccines.
The new immunization requirements are:
Families of children who need vaccines should call their physicians to schedule an appointment. Most immunizations are covered under health insurance policies. Students without health insurance may call the Calvert County Health Department at 410-535-5400.

The new immunization requirements are:
- All students entering Kindergarten are required to show proof of two Varicella (chicken pox) vaccinations.
- All students entering 7th grade are required to show proof of
- one tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis/whooping cough (Tdap) vaccination and
- one Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccination.
